Hello, and welcome to
dannomac.com. This is
simply a little personal website for my family and friends, primarily
intended as a repository for pictures, Darren's artwork, my family tree
information, and various other collections that may or may not be of
particular interest to anyone.
If you see something here you like, let me know. If you see something
here that offends, let me know that, too! If you think that something
should be added, I'm open to all suggestions for content as well as visual
improvement.
Enjoy the site, and please surf responsibly!
Now that the elections are over (save the possible GA Senatorial runoff), maybe we can start looking forward to the holidays.
The next site update will be to add the "House History" content - be looking for this sometime before the end of the holiday season!
2008 SAND Tour of Homes
Our home was one of eleven properties selected for the most recent local home tour. The Tour Committee had approached us for the past three years, and we finally decided to go for it, figuring that we'd continue to be "hounded" until we said "yes".
The Tour was held on Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19, and although it was a lot of work to prepare, it was well worth the effort. We met so many great neighbors from near and far, and everyone was SO complimentary of our home. As an added bonus, we had Barbara (one of the previous residence of our home) as a tour guide for the Saturday afternoon shift, accompanied by her daughter, Susan. A great time was had by all.
To read more about the tour, and to see the tour brochure (which includes more pictures of our home along with an interesting little write-up), please visit www.sandtourofhomes.org. From the main page, select "2008 Tour Information" and then select "Stop #3".
Our back yard has undergone dramatic changes over the past few years - back in the 20s and 30s, there were gardens and a chicken house - even a cow or two called it home. Today, we have started our little back yard oasis, complete with decks, ponds, and lots of plants. Thanks to the addition of a 10,000 gallon pond, we won't have to worry about being able to keep up with the watering, even during Georgia's continuing drought issues.
